Ibis Budget Birmingham: Hotel review.

Ibis Budget, Why you shouldn’t visit. Ibis Budget Birmingham. So on my visit to Birmingham I needed somewhere to stay, I don’t think people would like me snoring on the street. I decided to go for the Ibis Budget, the reviews online looked good and the price caught my eye. At a special price of £25 a night I thought it was an amazing deal and snapped it up. Now that I have completed my four nights there, I wouldn’t even pay £5 a night. Now I have quite a bit to write about so I thought it would be better If I split everything up into days. This way you can see how events played out. Day 1, Monday 4th July 2016. So I arrive at reception and check in. I notice that key cards have to be used in order to access the lift and stairs. I thought…

The Diana Palace: Hotel travel destination

The Diana Palace, updated and upgraded. So this year was our third year at the amazing Diana Palace situated in Argassi, on Zante Island. We have stopped at this hotel now for three years, it is that good! This year however we discovered that the Diana Palace had had on of the best face lifts I have ever seen, if you haven’t been before you will really want to now! You can find a recap of how amazing the Diana Palace is by clicking on the link in this sentence. I can tell you a couple of things however, the staff are still amazing as ever. They all have smiles on their faces and are so helpful, you would never find the amazing customer service in the UK; this is the place to go to be treated like a loving family member. So if you have stayed here before you…

San Marco, a one time fling.

San Marco, not as good as you would think. So we decided to give Zante town a little visit as we wanted to go to the amazing farmers fruit and veg market. While there we decided to take a short walk into the actual town and get a spot of lunch, not a huge one as we decided as it was our last full day we would have a massive dinner, as you do. We looked at a few places and instantly struck a few off the list after pestering people in the doorways. We saw San Marco in the main square and it looked busy, we decided to give it a go.  All I can say is that looks can be deceiving. We found our seats and took a look at the menu, while doing so a waitress swept past us with immense speed and we had been left…

Papillon, Greek food done right.

Papillon, Greek infused food goodness. So this time around we decided to try a few new restaurants. With new restaurants came new food, like garlic spiked mussels, but I will come to that later. We had a walk around Argassi and came across Papillon, just next door to Zorbas. We decided to give it a go at dinner time and see how well the place actually was, the boards outside made it look fantastic and so far they are the only place I know that does take away; I could be wrong but this made the place that little bit better for me. After all you don’t have Hungry House for Greece. We got shown to our seats by some very helpful staff, all smiles which is great. I find good service in Zante, Greece to be a little hit and miss. Some places we have been in are amazing,…

Angelos, the best tourist gift shop in Argassi.

Angelos, tourist and gift shop. Let me tell you about Angelos! Three years now we have been coming to the beautiful island that is Zante. Although you will see most of my travel reviews about restaurants I thought it was time to switch it up a little. There are so many tourist shops in Zante and quite a few in Argassi, on the top of my head I can count 10 but I’m sure there are more. We however on our very first trip found an amazing shop with the most amazing owners ever. You find that if you visit you will walk past a lot of shops and they will literally try and drag you in just to buy whatever they are pushing at the time. By the time they have finally convinced you to look about they decide that they best way to get you to spend your…
