Papillon, Greek infused food goodness.

So this time around we decided to try a few new restaurants. With new restaurants came new food, like garlic spiked mussels, but I will come to that later. We had a walk around Argassi and came across Papillon, just next door to Zorbas. We decided to give it a go at dinner time and see how well the place actually was, the boards outside made it look fantastic and so far they are the only place I know that does take away; I could be wrong but this made the place that little bit better for me. After all you don’t have Hungry House for Greece.IMG_5799

We got shown to our seats by some very helpful staff, all smiles which is great. I find good service in Zante, Greece to be a little hit and miss. Some places we have been in are amazing, family run and so friendly they make you want to come back. Others make you want to leave before you even start the meal and I have in the past. Papillon staff however made you feel welcome and really want you to enjoy your meal, they even have English speaking staff to make it so much easier.

Over the week we decided to visit twice and try a variety of new food. My partner decided to go with the spiked mussels for a starter one night where as I landed with some tatzika accompanied with some fresh baked bread from their wood fired oven and a side of chips. We ate a lot more than what I just listed but I have to say the food is very nice, a few dishes could be improved like the Greek pizza and having the feta distributed a little better; not many people like a feta clump to chew on.

All that being said the food did arrive nice and fast with no hassle; there is nothing worse than having to send the food back as its wrong. They don’t stick random appetisers and drinks on the table and expect you to pay at the end, the food is prices fairly and you don’t end up paying way over the limit, even though VAT has risen in Greece.

I have to say I would totally recommend eating here without a doubt, there are loads of places to eat in Argassi and Zante as a whole but Papillon will be one I return to for sure.
