Let me tell you about a little hidden oasis that situates within the wonderful town of Argassi, Peppermint. If you have read my other Greece articles, you will see that I love to try the various restaurants in the area where I stay. I wouldn’t have found out about this wonderful restaurant if it wasn’t for the amazing owner Katrina at the Diana Palace Hotel. She suggested that we try the Peppermint and booked us a table. We looked forward to trying somewhere that came so highly recommended.
Now depending on how fast you walk, the Peppermint is located around 10/15 minutes from the hotel, this however is no problem because you can go for a nice walk in the heat and take in everything around you; to be fair if I knew how good the restaurant actually was I would have walked double!
When we arrived we were greeted by George, we told him that we had a table booked and he showed us the way with smiles the whole time. Our table was amazing, outside but on the patio so not in direct sunlight which is great for myself. The menu is divine and if you want Greek fine dining, this is the place for you! We went to Peppermint twice during our stay in 2015 and we are looking forward to returning in 2016.
When it comes to the food you will not be let down, I think it was impossible to get disappointed with the food here to be honest. I had one of the best grilled steaks in Greece and I had sampled many. My partner on the other hand decided to go with something a bit more fancy, Lobster. The lobster arrived on a bed of pasta accompanied with Prawns, Mussels and a rich tomato sauce! You have to book the lobster 48 hours in advance as they get it in fresh, but it is well worth the wait and at the same time not as expensive as you would think.
I would suggest booking a table because they got very busy at the Peppermint and some people got turned away or had to wait. The one thing that remained a mystery to me was that some people got little green bags and I longed to know what was in them!
We can not wait to return to this tropical oasis in 2016 and counting down the days, out of the many places we decided to visit this is one of our favourites! If you want to check these guys out have a look at their Tripadvisor or even take a gander at their facebook.
