So If you follow me and my bog you will know that I love to enter competitions and do so throughout the month. I even post monthly updates on everything that I have won. Well the time has come to take a break from entering competitions for the time being, not because I don’t like it anymore but because I have so much to do.
Entering competitions can be hard work and it takes up a lot of time throughout the month. If you don’t have this time to set aside you just aren’t going to win anything and that sucks. Well I have loads to do at the moment and I am going to Bangkok for two weeks in September so I am unable to enter any competitions!
It would be pointless for me to enter 5/10 a week because I won’t win anything and I will lose time out of my fantastic holiday which would equally suck! The great thing about having an iPad is that I can enter competitions wherever I have WIFI so who knows maybe I will enter a load of competitions on the plane journey there and back!
Perks of taking a break from competitions
Although I won’t be winning anything I can say that there is one nice perk to not entering competitions. Twitter won’t be getting annoyed at me anytime soon! If you are clued up on Twitter competitions you may know that if you enter too many competitions and your interaction with people is low, Twitter may mistake you for spam or a bot. This means you may have your account suspended!
Now other than not having your account suspend there is another perk when it comes to giving competitions a rest! You turn invisible! People will stop following you which means you won’t have compers retweeting and commenting on your posts all the time and for a while once you start up again! It also means that companies will forget who you are! If you have won with a company before they are less likely to pick you again, Unlike my lucky strike with Bad Rhino!
If you become invisible for a while when you get back into it companies are more likely to pick you. This is because you are knew or you appear new and they want to show diversity. Of course a twitter competition is supposed to be picked at random but who really knows! It would also be a good idea to get back into entering competitions with a new picture so that you appear totally different!
So there you have it!
So there you have it! I haven’t entered competitions for the whole of August and I am unsure if I will get a chance to enter them at all in September as I will be so busy and not even in the country! I hope you have found this post helpful though especially if you are thinking about taking a break from entering competitions as well.
There is no shame in taking a break. If people expect you to be winning all the time, keep them on their toes and keep them guessing. It is great to have a break, too much of a good thing is bad for you, Unless that thing happens to be money!! If you are taking a break though maybe have a plan for when you start up again so you don’t get lost and confused.
Hopefully I will be back in a couple of months with some new fantastic wins! Let me know if you have ever taken a break from entering competitions, was it easy to get back into it or did you find it difficult and have a hard time with the process?
