Wish App Review – Is Wish A Scam?

{Affiliate links}

During lockdown I decided to download the Wish app which beforehand I thought was a load of total rubbish and wasn’t worth spending any time on, I have however since changed my mind and ended up spending over £50 on it and that was just for my first Wish haul video on YouTube so make sure you check that out if you’re bored!

I’m going to talk about the pros and cons of the Wish shopping app and the things you need to look out for and avoid if possible. It’s going to be my little Wish review and hopefully, you’ll be able to take something away from it for when you download the app and get shopping!

👋 I’m giving you £4 in credit! To use it download the Wish App with my link. [Wish Referal link]

Shopping On The Wish App

Wish shopping can be a lot of fun, however, it’s dangerous to fall down a rabbit hole and before you know it you’ve spent a fortune. I thought I’d spent around £20 and it was more like £51! If you want the whole, wish shopping made fun experience then you need to watch what you’re spending!

Items for free on wish, they’re not so free. Take the image below for example. It says free however you have to pay £2 postage, and every “free” item you get the postage starts to add up and before you know it you’ve spent a fortune shopping on wish!

Reduced Items On The Wish App

Now I love a good bargain and wish bargains are even better, they’re cheap already and they get cheaper. However there are a few things you need to be wary about when shopping on the wish app, some people call it the wish app scam. If you see a product that says £103 reduced to £1 you’re never going to get that item. They will take your money and then a few days later refund you but that can take a week to appear in your bank!

I stay away from anything that’s heavily reduced as I’ve never got anything and I’ve tried a few times trust me! However, if you see a wish product that’s reduced from £2 to £1.87 for example, 9/10 times they’re legit and grab that reduction!

Discounts On The Wish App

Now I love a bargain and I love a nice discount, the more you buy on the wish app the more you can get wish app discounts. Every purchase you make and review you leave you’ll get points and you can use these points for a discount on wish products; however it doesn’t apply to postage costs.

You can spend your wish points for a discount up to 15% but not over that and they do have limits, which I believe at the moment is anything over £50 and the code can’t be used. You’ll also find however that a lot of the time they have a 5% discount code ready for you to use, without having to spend any points so always check that out!

Wish app rewards are also something that you need to look out for. With every purchase, you’ll get wish points and as these grow you can use them for discounts on your wish purchases. One example would be that 200 points will give you 5% off your purchase although not off of shipping costs.

Shipping Times Wish App

Now if you’re wish shopping UK style then you’re going to have to be patient. Wish app shipping times can be all over the place. I get my items within 1-3 months! So if you want something, make sure you’re happy to wait around a bit, otherwise, you’re going to be disappointed when it takes months to arrive!

Wish delivery times can be faster, you can have them sent to a store which normally takes a couple of weeks and is cheaper as well so see if that’s an option when placing a wish order. However, I will say that if the item hasn’t arrived after the delivery date, the item is refunded pretty quick and if you’re anything like me you’ll have it in Wish credit so you can carry on shopping!

What Can I Buy On Wish?

Anything to be fair. I mainly buy pin badges on wish which you can see from my haul however you can find anything on wish. I’ve seen CCTV systems, boxer shorts, microwaves and coats so the possibilities are literally endless on there! However I wouldn’t buy things like phones as you never know what you’re going to get, in fact I stay away from technology altogether.

As we’ve been in the year 2020 and buying face masks seems to be at an all time high, I decided to buy quite a few and if you watch my wish haul videos you’ll see that the wish app has loads to pick from!

Using Wish

The wish app is a great way to get some cheap bargains or Christmas gifts if you buy early enough. Just make sure you give your self loads of time for the stuff to arrive! Don’t forget to check out my Epic Wish Haul video and see what I picked up! I purchased so much I had to do two videos!

So if you’re still wondering, is Wish a scam? Then I’d say no, I think you just have to be patient with what you order at the end of the day it could take weeks, if not months to arrive and with global restrictions in 2020 – 2021 post is taking even longer so don’t expect it to arrive next day!
