Keeping Your Home Pest Free

We’ve just moved into a house and I have to say I’m loving it! However, one thing we’ve noticed is the unwelcomed guests that seem to be all over the place and I’m not just talking flies in the heatwave! I’m putting this post together to tell people how we deal with unwelcomed visitors and how you might be able to get rid of them.

There are loads of unwelcomed pests that can invade your home and there are many ways in which you can get rid of them, both humane and not so much. Let’s talk about the various pests you can get in your home and how to get rid of them. I mean getting a cat would be a good start but not everyone can have pets.

What Pests Can You Get At Home

Ants, they’re one of the many rests you will get when you have a home. There are various ways in which you can get rid of the ants, you can get ant stations that you can put around your house which work as a repellent and should stop them from going into your home. You can also get supersonic devices that you can plug in, I don’t use plug-in devices though due to energy costs going up.

Mice & Rats, if you have a big garden, you’ll probably get these at some point. It doesn’t matter how clean or dirty your garden is, they’ll come in from the cold and you don’t want them getting stuck in your walls. You can use humane traps or you can use inhumane traps. The one thing I will say is that if you’re using humane traps, when you release them, make sure it’s far, far from your home.

Pest Removal Company

It’s not always possible to get rid of bugs, insects, birds, bees and mice by yourself though. So I’d suggest getting an expert in to get rid of them. Pest control solutions can be really easy, simple and effective. Call in an expert and you’ll be able to get rid of them in no time and with no hassle, I would always recommend getting an expert in if you have mice in the walls!

Insects

Spiders!! I hate them. Many say conkers work great but I don’t agree. Instead, I use a spider repellent spray around all the windows and doors in the house and I have to admit, the amount of spiders has reduced dramatically so I’d suggest you give the sprays a go if you hate spiders as much as I do!

Moths! Moths are the worst, especially carpet moths. They can eat through pretty much anything in your house and you really don’t want them. You can use fly traps, zap bats and moth smoke bombs which I suggest using. Set off one of the smoke bombs and then vacuum the whole house, if you want you can use them again a few days later to make sure they don’t return!

I Hate Pests

Do you have any other suggestions for getting rid of unwanted guests in your house? We had terrible carpet moths in our old flat and the landlords did nothing to stop them so we had to work on it ourselves, we know just what it’s like to have guests you can’t get rid of!
