Why Getting A Conservatory Can Make Your Home More Eco Friendly

2020 has been a bit of a let down although in my opinion 2021 is the year that’s going to change the world. Climate change is happening, global warming is being kicked to the curb and it’s all about recycling and going green! One of the things I’ll be looking at doing in 2021 is getting my first house and I’m thinking a nice little fixer upper as well. That being said I’m looking at all the ways now that I can make my home more eco friendly and I thought I’d tell everyone what I found!

So here are a few tips and tricks I can’t wait to implement when I’ve got my first home, maybe you’re already doing some of these or you might possibly be thinking about doing it! Let’s find out what works best for you shall we.

Garden Water Butts

I can see you grinning at the word butt! It’s not what you think, people in the UK spend a fortune on water bills each year and then complain about the rain. Instead of filling up your watering can from the tap, get a water butt! They don’t have to be expensive, they don’t have to cost anything at all because you can turn an old bin into a water butt if you really wanted.

Save a fortune on water bills and do your bit for the environment by collecting that rainwater and watering the plants, after all, rainwater is what they normally have anyway! If you’ve got a greenhouse you can use the water to grow your own fruit and veg, doing even more for the environment! You can also grow tons in a greenhouse, find out what to grow in a greenhouse and have fun!

Eco-Friendly Home Improvements

Now I’m not saying everyone has the money to make big changes to their home but I will say there’s a need for these and it’s worth saving up for them and having them work done when it can be afforded! If you need more ways to keep your home warm check out four frugal ways to keep your home warm, however here are a few other ways to help keep your home warm and eco friendly.

Solar Pannels

I love the idea of solar panels, make your own electricity and save on electric bills and any excess electricity you can sell back to the energy companies and make money. There are loads of companies out there that will do solar panels and you can get a really good deal. There are even some government schemes so keep an eye out for them. They don’t look ugly, they’re making your home eco friendly and they’re doing their bit for the environment; what’s not to like!

Conservatories

Did you know you can reduce your heating bills by up to 50% depending on your location if you had a conservatory? That’s mental right, I’ve been looking at some conservatories lately and I have to say they don’t only look amazing but they have so many useful and eco-friendly advantages!

If you wanted you could have solar panels installed on top of your conservatories, find a company that makes theirs in the UK to support UK businesses and it’s an amazing extension onto your home you can do so much with, what’s not to like!

Double Glazing

Proper windows are a must in all homes these days, keep your energy and heating bills down and keep the heat in. If you wanted you could even have triple glazing put in! Not only does it keep the homes warmer but it’s that added layer of protection knowing that your home is safe and secure.

Why You Should Have An Eco-Friendly Home

I hear this comment all the time and I have to say it’s simple really, we only have one planet and we need to look after it. If we can have our homes working for us and the planet, why not? It’ll make us feel more proud of our home and we know that we’re leaving a greener earth behind for generations to come! If there’s one thing you do in 2021, make sure you go green.
