Mint Fudge Slow Cooker

Now it doesn’t matter if you have a huge slow cooker or a nice modest sized slow cooker, anyone can make this recipe. This easy mint fudge recipe is great if you’re busy doing chores, sorting out the children or just want to relax while baking something yummy in the background. If you’re making it on the hob you’d have to stir it even more.

I love having baking days so while I have muffins in the oven I’ll have fudge in the slow cooker. I personally think that this is the best mint chocolate fudge recipe but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Why Make Slow Cooker Fudge?

Pros:

  • Easy to clean: Slow cookers are relatively easy to clean, especially compared to stovetop or oven-based fudge recipes. This is because the fudge is cooked in a closed environment, which means that there is less mess to clean up.
  • Hands-off: Once you have added all of the ingredients to the slow cooker, you can pretty much walk away and forget about it. The slow cooker will do all of the work for you, so you can relax and enjoy your free time.
  • Thick and creamy: Slow cooker fudge tends to be thicker and creamier than fudge made in other ways. This is because the slow cooker cooks the fudge at a lower temperature, which allows the sugar to dissolve more evenly and prevents the fudge from becoming grainy.
  • Versatile: Slow cooker fudge can be made with a variety of ingredients, so you can experiment and find your favorite flavor combination.

Cons:

  • Long cooking time: Slow cooker fudge takes longer to cook than fudge made in other ways. This is because the slow cooker cooks the fudge at a lower temperature, which means that it takes more time for the sugar to dissolve and the fudge to thicken.
  • Not as consistent: The texture of slow cooker fudge can vary depending on the slow cooker you use and the cooking time. This is because slow cookers can vary in temperature, which can affect the cooking time and the final texture of the fudge.
  • Can be difficult to remove from the slow cooker: Slow cooker fudge can be difficult to remove from the slow cooker because it is so thick and sticky. This can make it difficult to cut into pieces or to transfer the fudge to a serving dish.

Overall, making fudge in a slow cooker is a relatively easy and hands-off process that results in thick, creamy fudge. However, it is important to be aware of the potential cons, such as the long cooking time and the inconsistent texture. If you are looking for a quick and easy way to make fudge, slow cooker fudge may not be the best option for you. However, if you are willing to put in a little time and effort, slow cooker fudge can be a delicious and rewarding treat.
